tim010 0
Have had my 1997 VR6 for about a month now and it has two chips that will more than likely be an MOT fail when it's due in January. I contacted my insurance company as I have windscreen cover and they stated that as the damage was there when I bought the car they will not cover me for it. Seems a bit strange but not much I can do about it.I think that the chips are a little bit to big to repair and upon speaking to a few companies it seems that it doesn't cost much more to have a brand new screen as they charge about £40 per chip repair anyway, Can anyone recommend a decent windscreen fitter in the Milton Keynes area that will use a genuine VW windscreen? Also how much is a new windscreen from VW likely to be?Thanks in advance.Tim
goonersteve 0
Why don't you just chuck a stone at it and cause another chip, or a crack. Then phone your insurers and let them know that unfortunately a third chip has appeared, which was NOT there when you bought the car? Can't argue with that can they Sorry i can't help in terms of recommending a fitter. But that is what i would do. I mean, you're gonna change the screen anyway, one way or another. So what ya got to lose?!
nivag27 5
That sounds a good idea to me, what can they do. They will have to change it, Twats
