Guest vr6ade
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. I have a 1994 corrado vr6 and the heater has stopped working. the control for the power of the heater has stopped working. the one with the four speed settings. the temprature one seems to still seems to adjust the heat it just doesn't blow. does anyone know what the problem could be here and how to solve it. The car also seams to be using or losing water, are these issues related. perfect timing for the winter.Help someone please

Guest vr6ade
I've done that. My owners manual got pretty badly rain damaged and the fuses page was ruined. I pulled out the fuses in the drivers foot well one at a time and they all seem to be ok. i'm looking for a replacement owners manual on ebay so i can see what is what. amazak 3
If the fuse is still good then check the resistor for the heater blower and the connections. On my mk3 cabby the resistor was coroded, cleaned it out sprayed some WD40 and all was good. Not sure about the rado's heater setup but I am guessing it will be the same. The resistor is located on the passenger side below the dash, just trace the wiring from the blower itself and that will lead you to the resistor. Have a look at this link on ebay, the resistor is pictured below. Alternatively it could be the blower itself. Water loss can be down to a number of things (pumps, pipes, seals, water bottle and cap..etc), but will not affect your heater blower the fact that you are getting heat from the vents seems to be a blower issue.Link for ebay .... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK3-HEATER-RESISTOR-C141_W0QQitemZ190159635934QQihZ009QQcategoryZ9889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

daleyboyVR6 6
you may need to go to the corrado forum, but dont tell anyone i said that..........from what i remember if you find out its nothing electrical then it may be the mechanism behind the knob (excuse the pun !) i believe they have some kind of metal linkage (similar to some lock mechs in the door) and in time these flex/break or just become unhinged (back to the puns) like i said have a look at the other forum if the previous suggestions dont work, good luck........................ :-p
