Smoothed bumpers! keep fog light??

Recommended Posts

Im realy into my slammed, euro style, smoothed, simple dubs and im in the process of prepin my car for a respray.

I need help makin up my mind on a few things and was hoppin people could give me there apinon

Do you think I should keep my fog lights in the front bumper, and just remove indicators. They are tinted (see pic left) I do enjoy the extra light in the lanes!! Or fully smooth the bumper???

and Im unsure where i should keep my vr side skirts or not??????

This it what the rest of the cars going to be lookin like so you can gauge it

Its fully striped out in the back. Im welding my boot and smoothin into body, Smoothin the rear bumper and extending it at the bottem buy the wheel buy 2cm sloppin down to 1cm at the back, removin number plate/ badges, wiper from tailgate, puttin the number plate in the window, petrol flaps going, cap behind rear cluster into alum tank, door handles, and indicators on wings, im keeping the side strips

and what do perspex windows look like Hurd they can look abit shitty???

Picture will be added when finished

Sound people

perspex can haze up sometimes and does scratch really easily

I think the bumper need the fogs and inds just to break it up a bit, without i think I takes away a major piece of the front end look of the car

With the skirts I think just plain smooth skirts would look good, finished off with a side exit exhaust

Are you really going to fully weld up the boot into the body? Thats just going to far IMHO. Just smooth the badge/wiper/handle and leave the number plate where its supposed to be, breaks up the back end.

Maybe just smooth the textured lower part of the bumpers into the top part and paint as one piece too.

Lees is more but not too much!

Yep im weldin it in lol. Im a mad one!!!!!!. Never seen it done before and I think it should look good plus its not a car I wanna be putting stuff in the boot. Once ive done it theres know going back *-) . I know what your saying about the number plate :@ I like both!!!!. Im leaving the tecktured bit unsmoohed to the rest of the bumper thats my idea of braking up the back end. Il find out if i like it once its finished!! if i dont then gutted!!

Cheers for the input

Yep im surtanly on a mission lol. Im defanly smoothing the line, recess and indicators but probably just get the fogs a realy dark tint, (so will prety much look like pic left)!! The boot wont open so will be far from usable. But theres know seats in the back anyway so things can be put in there from the front doors.

Which bit dont you like about the boot??? The smoothin into the body of the removal of the number plate? Like your engine btw!! Where have your HT leads gone??

cheers...my ht leads are underneath the manifold..just had a cover made fr teh top

you might aswell loose the fogs too..or get them relocated to where the air intakes are put bellow?

i dont really like the whole thing with teh tailgate...i prefer the plate kept and sticking in the window doesnt look right...also think police might not like it. welding the tailgate iv only seen done once before and it was on a saxo..enough said ;)

No mate, im sayin if you do it...it will remind me of that saxo owner...it will probli look nicer on a golf. i dont see how it fits on with taht simple euro look you say you like? its a bit OTT imo....its your car tho, so upto you but if everyone agreed with you ..there would be no point asking, and if we all liked teh same things it would be a boring world.

think your best of concentrating on wide wheels wide arches if you want to do it propper euro...2 things i need.

i kinda like the idea of smoothing the boot. will look different and make the car look really complete, just remember its gonna be a ball ache to get at those rear lights though if you need to change a lamp. lol.

and lose the fogs. your going all out smoothing the boot, may as well get rid of the fogs too. and if your leaving the bumpers textured, id say leave the sidestrips textured too, and dont colour code any of the lower splitters either.

Vrmonster!!!! is your MK3 turbo'ed???? If so could you anser me a question please. Im smoothing the engine bay as well, I want to pannel right and left sides buy the wings but if i was to have a supercharger i would need all the space on the O/S (where the airbox normal goes under the wing!!) If I where to turbo my car would there be anywhere in the engine bay i should leave unpannled for pipe work ect.
