Need a new cat - supplier recommendations please

I need a new cat, I noticed it's got a small hole in it tonight.

Can anybody suggest a decent supplier? I know GSF do one for £98 and I've seen cheaper but don't know about the quality.

Depends on the condition really, I hadn't thought of looking for a second hand one as unless it's nearly new it can be wasted time fitting it. I guess they last longer than they used to though.

Is yours VW or eurocarparts?

theres cheap and theres cheap. cheap is not always better like the fairy ad false economy euro in chester is just round the corner from ces but the md,s at ces wernt happy cos the guy who set or went to euro was a top guy at ces big fall out i think play them off one another

arvin timax do a metal cat which is tonnes better then the std ceramic monolith its a metal honey comb soaked in the precious metals that convert the gasses but a little more money but worth is imo

I've had a bit of a look around, the Timax metal one seems to be around 2.5x the price of the Timax ceramic one. I'm not sure it's worth the extra really.

i cant remember but itl last prob the life time of the car and is not affected by knocks and bangs heat vibration etc were as the ceramic ones are very fragile ive seen new ones only been on around a few weeks broken up inside and thats on std carswhen i had a golf gti i priced up both the ceramic was around 70 the metal was around 140. i dont think hi flow or sports cats are ceramic whatsoever
