spike1978 0
Hello, just joined the club, site looks really good and useful to vr6 owners. I have a problem with my mk3 golf vr6 P-reg. The car usually starts from cold, but will cut out after 5 mins or so at low speeds/revs then will not start again. I leave it a while say 10-15 min and it restarts. This has been going on for some time, had auto elec out and he bypassed the immobilser fuel pump and ignition circuits. But this did'nt work as i still have the fault. I think it might be the crank sensor but not sure. Also the car would not start if left for 2 hours, haven't been using the car recently due to fault.Does anybody know where i can source a crank sensor?Does anybody have any ideas please, HELP! shail 0
Have you had the codes checked? I had similar symptons. Turned out to be perished wires on the plug going into the MAF. Came up as a MAF fault when the codes were read
craggsy 91
VAG COM should always be the firat port of call for things like this.I had a problem with mine this week, it was hesitating and lacking in power and using fuel quicker than I like ie 75 miles on 3/4 of a tank.I hooked it up and it told me straight away it was the MAF. It looked like the wires so I rewired that but still doing it, so changed MAF and jobs a good un
Ickyketseddie 89
I had a starting problem where it was very intermittent which turned out to be the temp senders. HTH

vr6newcomer 1
MAF is between your throttle body and air box on the left side of the engine mate, i believe the speed sensor is a main stealer part.
