sciroccorrado 0
In the Vento I've currently got an "airbag" steering wheel, which is getting very worn now (139k miles). I've got a very nice Momo Millenium sitting around doing nothing at the moment and was gonna put this in its place, but am a bit worried about removing the Airbag one. Anybody have any experience on how to go about doing this?

Gwalkvr6 0
Disconnect battery, leave for a couple of hours (allows static electric charge to dissapate), remove steering column covers and locate airbag push connector. Split connector then remove airbag unit from steering wheel (2 Bolts) this allows for steering wheel removal. Finally prise off trim housing airbag warning lamp on dash and remove bulb.Worked on my VR.Hope it helps. VR6Steve 0
before you do it, check that your insurance company is ok with it.
dubloke 4
the above description is good advice, same procedure i used. you will also require a resistor to plug back into the air bag push connector otherwise you will have the airbag warning light illuminated constantly, which is an mot failure! removing the bulb is also a failure as it should come on with ignition and then extinguish . awesome gti supplied mine at a cost of £10 plus p&p .[ Edited Wed Feb 04 2004, 09:27AM ]
