Finally got DDI gauges in place

Recommended Posts

Well whilst i've not been working i've been doing little things that i keep putting off. So todays little job was to get the DDI gauges in and ali rings in. It went very easily actually and only took me a couple of hours, and i'm well pleased and need to get out in car tonight to see em in action.

It takes longer to reset all needles....my temp and fuel gauge aint spot on. Had car on VAGCOM and revs and speedo are spot on. Wouldn't have time at meet as i prefer my beer. Could do it at the VR6OC show/meet at billing if you ain't got em done by then

They look the part, but the smaller gauges do not sit right tho you cannot see it at all. But glad i went with the ali and not plastic as they look like they will hold the look for a long time ie no fade.

What i am gonna do tho is take the green strip off above cluster that gives it the green glow. Saves me painting needles then, as they look kinda green when lights are on. When I put a night pic on it might show what i mean. Couldn't do anything with displays tho as its a '97 car they are moulded into display

Night pic as promised........now you can see what I mean about the green filter on top of the cluster that beems down green light on to the faces. It glints off the Ali gauges and you can see the needles are green. So i'm gonna take that out and experiment with things and colours
