Zonda_ 0
Following on from the excellent guide written on doing an oil change in my other thread I thought this would be a useful thing to have up to. A mod could create a "Basic service thread" as I'm sure there are plenty more people like me who object to paying garage price for work they could do themselves with a set of instructions. So, anyone out there who's done this a hundred time, get writing! vr6newcomer 1
unfortunately its not qiute that simple with the v..r, becauce of the obsecure access to the spark plugs you have to use a special tool, a standard v.w one in plastic should be under your bonnet on your bonnet stay, but you can get a metal one, which makes it a lot easier. Zonda_ 0
Yes but the tool is for the plug leads not the plugs no?
SiGainey 1
yes, but you need to remove the leads to get at the plugs

vr6newcomer 1
if youve got tthe silly plastic tool on your motor, and a spare few hours to kill, give it a crack, i just have mine there purely for cosmetic purposes now, the metal ones are a lot easier.
