6potmkII 0
hi everyonejust a quick Q, what are the torque settings for ARP bolts for those that have used them??Conrods boltsmainstuds (crank)and head studscam shaft nutsthey did come with leaflet with instructions and settings, but i just want to double check as they seem very loose for e.g. conrod bolts only 38lb and thats only equivelant to like 53Nm and around 70lb for the head.as said only for peice of mind realy as at work when we had recalls on the e46 M3 big ends, we only had to torque up the new conrod bolts supplied to 70Nm and that seemed low let alone 53Nmcheers in advance
IbiVR 0
Yeah thats right. Its cos there not stretch bolts they done need to be so tight.Make sure you use loads of the grease they give you, so you dont get fooled by a tight thread.I'd go slightly more on the headbolts - 75 ish, and once there all in go round again and check them all, a couple may well need nipping up.The rod bolts have a tiny bit of stretch in them. Do them up to 38, undo, up to 38, undo, then finallay back up to 38 again. Bit of a pain but needs doing.Tom.

FishWick 21
Yeah the conrod ones kill your arms if you do it laying on your back.....12 bolts torqued up 3 times! See if you can do it in one go without dropping your arms for a rest :-)
