bigvr20 0
I have had my stage 2 vf charger on for a few weeks now it has not been mapped yet but is due in at stealth on the 13th april, all has been good until i noticed there was oil coming through the filter, to stop the problem ive modified the catch can and blocked the pipe off on the catch can going to the charger and the hole in the pipe coming off the charger. I thought this would solve the problem of oil leaking into the air filter and i would just have to empty the excess out of the catch can every so often but since i have changed it round the car runs like crap. Is what i have done with the catch can wrong?? does it all need to be connected to run properly?? surely there is a way of stoping oil from leaking into the air filter?? i desperatly need to get this sorted guys/gals so any help would be a huge help as i just dont understand whats gone wrong. . thanks in advance for any replies. rodney 17
OK,I have a couple of questions... Just done and mapped mine..and had a few words of wisdom from Vince at stealthQ. You have oil in your air filter???You expect to have a little flow back through the breather pipe and the catch pot. You do actually need to clean the section where the probes fit in periodically just before the air filter as there is some flow back over time and that will cause the engine to run like crap. So worth a clean use a break cleaner or the likes!Q. Are your hoses kinked anywhere? The hoses areound the catch pipe were a little long on my install and the kink can cause pressure which in theory could be forcing oil out. An area I must modify on mine!Other than that got to be worth a check on all your connections to make sure all connected and tight....Hope it helps...Before you got to Vince get new plugs (low temp) and check fault codes to ensure Lambda workingR
cadguy77 0
i've installed my breather system not to breath back into the intake. keeps it nice and clean that way.
rodney 17
will be interested to see what Vince has to say about that.....Let us know after tomorrow!
bigvr20 0
Right yes there is oil in the filter but there seems to be to much, no none of the hoses have any kinks in them, also i cleaned the oil out of the maf so might have damged it in the process?? its running seriously rich at the mo im talking 5miles to the gallon rich, got constant black smoke on tick over. rodney 17
No misfire or anything??? Did you put the red tops & 4bar fuel reg in? btw??? That could be the cause!! You should lave std in until remap! If you can get it on the old VAG Com as that may help with a fault code otherwise I am a little stumped.... Sorry If I come up with anything else I'll post it ! jaysVR6 2
Can I ask how you have been driving the car? No matter what you are doing, (and I'm not saying you are) you shouldn't be driving the car above 3,000rpm at the most with an unmapped charger bolted to it. I don't see how it will blow oil back through to the filter at these kind of low RPM's.
bigvr20 0
Spoke to vince at stealth today and explained the story, he sed its either 1) the maf is shaged 2)the lamda is shaged 3)the supercharger is shaged 4) the oil pipe on top of the charger is on the wrong way aroundCould someone with a vf charger set up please post pics of it for me from a top view so i can see which way around the hose sits on your set ups compared to mine Many thanks Sam
