Macca 1
As far as i can tell my car has been lowered by a previous owner using the cheapo springs only method. I see most people would go for coilovers. What is the benefit of these over just springs, other than adjustability?Im pretty happy with the springs, low but not scraping the ground, and although you feel every bump in the road i'm guessing this is the same with coilovers?Hopefully i could have a ride in someones at the rr day
acf8181 0
i wouldn't go with coilovers myself, i'm currently using just lowering springs...which is way better than standard, but if i had the money my prefered choice would be koni adjustanble dampers and eibach springs. a firend has this set up on his car and it's the perfect compromise of comfort and performance for everyday use, and you can adjust the damping rate (rebound) to fine tune it.coilovers only advantage is to get the car really low, unless you spend silly money and get ones that have rebound and bump adjustment on them. VR6Steve 0
I would say if you are happy with the height and ride leave it be until the shocks need replacing.I have a lowered suspension kit on mine, which tends to be better than just springs. The shocks are shorter and therefore better suited to the lower springs. (some correct me if I am wrong!)Coilies then add the adility to adjust the height too.I've not had or been in a car with coil overs to compare the 2 however.
