drnick 0 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Share Posted November 19, 2006 had my first go in my vr6 vento (god that noise is addictive! lol) only problem is it will not restart the battery went dead so started it with jump leads the first time and it was ok then left it and battery went dead again so got leads out and it wont start and the indicators are permanently on and it wont turn over! any ideas??? drnick 0 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2006 batteries only a few months old it went dead from not bein used! it started ok the first time but only drove it up and down the road a few times so battery didnt get a decent charge! what about the indicators stuck on? Bigjobbo 0 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Share Posted November 19, 2006 Trickle charge the battery for 3-6 hrs. This should get enough charge in the battery. Put some load on the battery, ie stereo heaters lights etc. If the battery then dies after normal use, your battery is bollocksed. If you've got a multimeter you could check it properly. The alarm could have something to do with the indicators, because the battery is bollocksed. Link to post Share on other sites

SankysVR6 1 Posted November 23, 2006 Report Share Posted November 23, 2006 It could be that the battery is not getting charged by the alternator, or there is load on the battery that's draining it. Also check that the light in the boot isn't staying on when the boot is shut.You could check the battery and alternator with multimeter if you have. Link to post Share on other sites
drnick 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 23, 2006 let the battery go dead then jump started it again. no problems with the indicators anymore and put all lights and heated screen on and checked battery voltage 14.2v with it all on and 14.4v just engine running so hopefully it'll all b ok now! cheers Link to post Share on other sites
