Guest natt
hey. new to this site and all things vw. currently own a mk4 escort xr3i which im looking to replace with a corrado vr6. Im here for a bit of advice really, had a quick peek at a few threads but thought i mite as well start my own. basically i work in a breakers yard and we got a rather nice K reg corrado vr6 in the other day with minor front end damage. the engines only done just over 90k and its immaculate. (appart from the damage obviousley) so rather than c it scrapped an ripped to shreds for parts im gona buy it and (hopefully) put it back on the road. damage wise its needs a new o/s wing and headlight, bonnet, grille and bumper. so im hopeing all u knowledgable folks could maybe shed sum light on the cost of these parts as im told they can be expensive or just plain imposible to get. im only gona pay 3 maybe 4 hundred for the car so im just weighing up the odds, buy this one and fix it or just buy one on the private market. thanks in advance. spanky 0
Buy that one for the cheapest you can, go out and buy a really nice one and either keep the damaged one for parts (if you have space) or scrap it yourself. The car in pieces you will make you far more than £300 or £400. IMO fixing damaged cars can end up with spiralling costs. This of course does depend on the extent of the damage, does it need any jigging etc? the human eye can't always tell!
kalv 0
Buy it, break it - you'll make much more than £300-£400... then buy a proper one with your profits...
