dubbin 0 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Share Posted August 24, 2006 rite guys, dis is a weird one, on my 97 vr, the drivers elec window is acting up. it wont go up or down. instead when you press the button it makes a weird whining noise but nothing happens, and when u use the drivers side switch to control the passanger window it doesnt work going down, but if you click press to go up you can hear the relay clickin on the passanger side. also the lights go very very dim on the window switch illumination as though it is takin all the cars power away. as in the illuminated light switches almost go out but all other lights jst dim very very litle.i have also tried a whole nu window mechanism in, motor, but the same thing happens.cant find anything like this on the forum, plz rak your brains for any help at all. It turned out to be a crushed wire.I'd check all the wiring. Trace the wires back from switches (both sides) to where they go through the door. Also, check under the rubber protective hose thing which is between the body and the door. Check for corrosion on the connections.Hope you find out whats afoot matey.
