Hard to start when engine hot

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 gti vr6 my car struggles to start sometimes. My husband told me it was just a cold start but I noticed it starts great first thing in the morning when it's freezing outside.however after driving around town once it's hot I get back in my car it struggles to start. Feels like it isn't getting fuel. It turns over and will stall if I don't give it gas. Then just now at a stop light it felt like it was trying to stall out until I gave it gas.what is going on? I know I little about cars but not a whole lot. Fuel pressure regulator? Any advice on what I should check

Sounds to me as tho it's getting too much fuel on warm start ups.

The coolant temperature sensor sends information to the ecu for it to analyse what sort of a fuel/air mixture to use dependant on engine temp.

Could be that the car is trying to use a cold start procedure (more fuel less air, like a choke in older cars) when it's not needed.

Now there's 2 sensors, one blue and one green if I remember correctly, one of which is a common failing point, that I've done in the past on one of my R32s but I can't for the life of me remember which one it is sorry. I'm inclined to say it the blue one.

My car sprays what I'm told is the ac compressor. It's random and when the car is usually still. Now when I drive upon acceleration I hear loud buzzing that gets louder the harder I accelerate usually it's loudest between 2000 &3000 rpm I think it's related to ac compressor.it's loud and embarrassing. U ever heard of this?
