  1. After a long break and no feature cars for a year, we thought we would kick off with something very special. This months feature car is owned by Craig , known to all on the forum as Craggsy. The car in question is a mkiv R32 Turbo with a blue Haldex controller. The combination of these 2 major components, as well as the R32 spec make for an impressive performance package all wrapped up in a VW badge. The performance from this special car can and does embarrass exotic marks costing rude amounts of money. Craig has been a member of the club for 7 1/2 years and is now the senior moderator. The m
  2. It's been a while.... with the site being down for most of June and show season in full swing this section has become a little neglected but it is with great pleasure that we introduce and celebrate one of our international members pride and joy, this ‘feature car’ section goes to Andre, otherwise known as Yazuka Racer from Cape Town South Africa :-) Yazuka joined the forum in March 2010 with a Very good looking pure white 1995 Jetta VR6... see these threads for a bit of history... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?348124.0 and http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/f
  3. This months ‘feature car of the month’ selection has been chosen and it’s no April Fools prank!!! This well deserved feature goes to B19 DRG also known as Dan Gooda and affectionately by some as ‘Smiffy’ :-) Another member from the deep South West, Dan rolled up to the VR6OC Mega Meet at Billing Aquadrome in 2009. I remember this very well as he stole the show with his all, well mostly, original White VR. We were all very impressed with his lovely clean motor and both the VR and his infectiously happy nature have been permanent fixtures at further OC events. It was not surprising th
  4. Right enough of the shiny and showy stuff for a little while.... we'll have plenty of all that in the next few months, it's on with the serious business.... I'm pleased to announce that this month's feature car belongs to paul parky. :-) Paul is well known to most for his helpful advice on the forum and is a permanent fixture of Team South, he is always more than willing to help out a needy VR owner including near full engine swaps whilst cheeky members disappear for personal appointments... Even after those sort of happenings Paul seems to keep a constant smile on his face, he's been very we
  5. Happy New Year Everyone! :-d :-* Yes I know it's a bit late but better late than never?.... I blame all the snow... ;-) Anyway.... still keeping with the 'White' stuff theme a big congratulations goes to the choice for this month's feature car... George Wilson known to you all as geo7087. George is a relatively new member to the forum, having only joined last June but has very quickly made himself at home here and his car will be representing the club at the national Ultimate Dubs show at the Telford International Centre next month. :-) As I am sure you know we welcome new members on a regular
  6. It is with great pleasure that I announce the honour of the November 2010 ‘feature car of the month’. This retrospective feature goes to Ben Seabrooks ‘Baby Blue Beauty’…. RIP. Moment of silence please…. It was a sad day and a bit of a shock when Ben, also known to some OC members as BGB, Mr Giggles, Mr Scenebrook, ‘The Guru’ (call him what you like – he doesn’t care! ;-) or has perhaps become immune due to spending too much time on here!) told us he was breaking the car (please apply direct for parts required…OBD1). Considering his ‘vision’ and future plans for the c
  7. For the one year anniversary of the ‘feature car of the month’ section and now ‘under new management’ the deserving candidate is Gary’s OBD1 Dragon Green Golf - Absy. Without doubt one of the finest examples of an OBD1 Golf in the club. A regular to the South West events and deserved show and shine trophy winner - this is one seriously cared for car, just take a look at the long list of modifications. Modifications: Polished Schrick Inlet Manifold Grant Motorsport VW Racing Cup Port & Polished Head Dougherty 268 Racing Cams Heavy Duty Valve Springs Enlarged Throttle Body BMC C
  8. So for the first time we have not one but two featured members this month ! The reason for this is the lucky recipients are the first couple of the VR6OC – Sal and Martin. This is both in honour of their long and well attended membership of the club and the dedication needed to run not one but two VR's !! Martin and Sal have been an ever constant on both the forum and at the shows for a while now and I am sure most of you will have seen Martin cloth in hand polishing the life out of the mulberry VR while Sal directs operation's ! Although they both have VR's they are quite different in styl
  9. Well slightly later than planned due to my general laziness and the fact I was forced to go to Germany visit the Nurburgring and have vast amounts of fun here is this months feature car ! This month the lucky member is Tony. Now I am sure that most of you will have had some sort of dealing with this particular character so introductions probably aren't necessary however for the lucky few here you go ! Tony is well known to most due to his encyclopaedic knowledge of the VR6 engine and his ability to break everything, normally more than once ! Seriously though he is always more than willing to l
  10. For this month's feature car we have chosen Mark Williams known to you all as Bungy. Mark is a relatively new member to the forum having only joined last July but has very quickly made himself a valuable member of the forum and is now a key part of Team South. Mark himself says “As a new member to the club I was made to feel welcome from the outset and as a result I have enjoyed a season of shows and events along with making some interesting and varied friends.†As I am sure you know we welcome any owner's of cars based around the VR6 engine but in my opinion it's always nice when a 4 mot
  11. This month's feature car belongs to Jim Potter. I don't know much about this shy and retiring member or his car but I will try and write a few words. I think pretty much everyone on here will have had a browse through Jim's build thread ( here http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?231150 if you haven't ) and it has now passed into the stuff of legend with people on other lesser forum's whispering his name in reverance. Well let me burst the bubble, it was a complete fluke !! No seriously this is a man who takes modding his cars very seriously and what makes it all the mo
  12. So this month's car is Gavin's Corrado. Another uber clean and classy example of a VR6. The Corrado's are becoming more popular and when you look at Gav's car it's easy to see why! They arguably sit better than the Golf and are certainly rarer and more unique. Although when Gavin joined the club he was the proud owner of a rather lovely Dragon Green golf – this was also very tastefully modded and quickly became one of the loveliest examples in the club. The reason for the move was simple, Gavin likes a new project to clean, sorry I mean stamp his mark on as he says himself “The inspiratio
  13. For our very first car of the month feature the logical and very deserving candidate was the car voted best VR6 at Billing - Helen's Mulberry Golf. Without doubt one of the cleanest straightest and cared for examples in the club. If you think it looks good in the photos you should see it close up - this is one seriously cared for car, emphasized by the fact it spent most of the billing weekend under it's own gazebo !! however as one of the below pics taken at the Nurburgring shows it does also get driven properly. It's a car that has been very tastefully modded with the emphasis on little su
