Hi I'm a 24 year old male living in Manchester and I have had a love for cars, Volkswagens in particular for as long I can remember .

It all started when I was a young, my dad and my uncle were always into there cars forever in the garage building, maintaining and cleaning, any excuse they had to have oiled hands and dirty overalls on , as a boy I looked up to my dad and uncle and was amazed with the knowledge they both had about anything with a motor, I never grew tired of watching them work I'm sure they got tired of me asking everyone question that popped into my head haha but they both said to me that's how you learn and both were great figures to look up to!

They both had large selection of cars from mini coopers to Renault 5 turbo ,mk2 escorts but the car that landed a special place in my heart was when they both bought a mk2 golf gti  ! and that's when they both knew this was the car for them, not long after owning the cars they both set out to fit the mighty vr6 to there golfs GTI !

They both successfully fitted there corrado 2.9 12v vr6 into the little mk2 golfs and back in the late 1990s this was some achievement as there wasn't a lot of people doing this kind of thing nor a lot of information about such conversion it gained the attention from the local car scene and landed and featured  in vw performance and they best part these golfs where daily drivers ! meaning I got picked up from school in the most bad ass car ever ! 

since then my dads vr6 has gone and has been replaced with a mk2 golf GTI 1.8 20 turbo (BAM) pushing 370bhp this was project that I actually helped with! This was done as I started high school, 2 year project with a fantastic result 10 years later and still going strong !

My uncle had  the better idea and supercharged the vr6 (sorry dad )

I always wanted to be a mechanic like my dad and uncle but they said use your brain not your hands and keep the cars as a hobby you will appreciate it more so I took the advice and now work a average job living a ground hog day like the most of us but cant help but sit there and day dream about what my next car was going to be here is a quick list of my previous cars

MK4 GOLF GTI 1.8T

and I currently own and focus st3 as my daily driver but will soon to be replaced with another bike filtering is key ! but the car that makes me the happiest is by beloved MK2 GOLF GTI 2.8VR6 which I've owned for 1 year now and was bought as a 80% project which I finished off with the help from the old men funny to think 18 years ago I had a dream car and when I finally achieved my goal it was an awesome feeling and whoever reads feel free to say its long winded and soppy or rubbish but this car holds so many memories for me and getting to finally own such a legend has made all the saving late nights cut hands and head aches worth it !

I'm looking forward to learning more and more about the VW scene and  my own car and I hope this forum can provide all the information I need for any future projects and I hope I can help others along the way. peace out iTzkennedy
