  1. Update ... Today I pulled the cover off of the fuel pump access under the back seat. I made doubly sure I broke the harness connector when I took it off.... ugh... I checked for voltage on the connector when opening the driver's door as well as when I was cranking the engine. Nothing. When the engine cranks, the screen on the meter changes, but the numbers are not readable. Remember, the battery is 'very' bad and barely cranks at all, even with the charger on it. On a positive note though, when I put voltage directly on the fuel pump pins, it ran very quietly and smoothly
  2. Hello to anyone tuning in. A few months ago, I bought an 03 gli with a vr6 that was locked up because it had run out of coolant. I only wanted the transmission and the interior. Well, I would up not needing the transmission, so I'm sitting here with a 'decent' gli that has overheated. The car would not turn over when I brought it home. I was under the car today, checking the fans, for another car, and I decided to put a wrench on the crank bolt to see if I could work it loose. It took me a while, but I did get it freed up, and could turn it with little resistance. I felt a surge of exci

I bought the car, mainly, for the 6 speed transmission, Santa Monicas, and the black leather interior ... all for another car(well, two other cars). I'm building a garage after the first of the year, so I'll have a good deal of storage space. I'm wondering if it is sensible to keep this engine and rebuild it later on. I have not researched rebuild kits or anything yet, but holding on to this engine is a possibility for me if they are sensibly rebuildable. I know it m
  4. Hello to everyone. This is my first time here, but I am not completely new to VWs. I have three Jettas, (2)2.0 wagons, and (1)1.8T sedan. I was contacted by a kid today asking if I wanted to buy his 02 VR6 sedan. The car has mismatched hood and front bumper, and I can see bondo in the upper portion of the drivers door. The interior is a 10, with only a tiny bit of wear on the drivers seat bolster, but it is not bad at all. He said the car has about 100,000 miles on it. I stopped by very briefly to see what it looked like, but didn't have time to tinker with it. It's been sitting for se
