My tranny has been quite loud and getting louder since I bought it 25k miles ago. A german mechanic was at a loss for trying to find a cheap replacement, as he knows the difference between cheap and junk. He said there's a good rebuilding place in California but thats on the opposite coast from me and I dont think that's my cheapest option. Please give me advice for the best longterm and yet less than $3000 option for replacing or rebuilding this insane transmission. I will have to do it hopefully not any time soon but if I have to go used I should start looking around.

Hey guys just curious what everyone thinks the best possible oil could be for my car. I know its a silly question but I'm curious what other people are using, I used castrol syntec 5w-40 after buying the car at 100k, but I'm thinking about switching to Liqui Moly Top Tec 4100 and was wondering if anyone could recommend one over the other or something better? Few specifics: no altitude, 90-100 degree summer days lately, engine runs great tranny is another story... On another note I upgraded my rotors and pads to ECS drilled/slotted + Akebono Euro pads.
