Disconnecting the MAF made no difference. When the engine is cold, is starts and idles with no problem. It's when its a warm start its the problem.

Hi all, new member and all that jazz I've just bought a 97 mk3 highline and am setting to work giving it some TLC. I wanted to ask if there are any common problems with Idle control valves, etc etc as when my VR is started, generally when its warm, it starts fine and as the revs drop its almost as if the idle control valve isnt fast enough to respond and it struggles a bit then dies. hold the revs above 1k for just a second or two and its fine. Any thoughts? Ross
