  1. Managed to bag a set of b8's for the knock down price of £268 all in which I thought was a steal, all fitted today and the ride mated with my r32 springs is great, tiny bit firm over the pot holes but every where else they're outstanding. Well recommended up to now, will give it a few days to bed in properly then report back.
  2. Yep was the replacement MAF swapped back to original one while i wait for the replacement to be sent, dash is like a xmas tree but at least it drives. On the plus side i had more time when i swapped it back so gave the throttle body a spring clean and is now nice and shiney ready for when i manage to finally get a good MAF on!
  3. Changed the MAF 3 days ago for new bosch unit and been running better than ever until today. CEL came on wasnt missing but power was all over the shop, if you hold the throttle the revs will drop and then pick up again without moving the pedal. Only got vcds lite but ran a chec and came up with 16497-Intake+Air+Temp.+Sensor+(G42)+P0113+-+35-10+-+Signal+too+High. At a bit of a loss where to start. full throttle it pulls better than it ever has in the 3 years i've had it but part throttle its all over the place. Any help at all appreciated.
  4. Well been a while but had enough spare time and jobs done!! difference is like night and day. Car feels planted and alot more eager to turn in with less understeer and gone are the knocks rattles and bangs!! So the car now has all new R32 cast wishbones and hubs, outer cv joints, new steering arms, track rod ends and ball joints, top mounts and bearings, powerlex roll bar bushes up front. R32 shocks and springs all round. R32 rear roll bar and powerflex bushes (keeping front std to aid turn in) refurbed trailing arms with front powerflex main bush and gen VW rear arm bushes with top adjustable
  5. Any of you guys checked the change over valve on the inlet is working and moving when revd hard? just atought!
  6. Will do thanks, thought i was going daft lol you know you're right but then some twonk puts doubt in your mind
  7. Decided its time to give the rear end a make over, bought a spare set of trailing arms to build up and swap to save time off the road, i have replaced all 4 bushes on rear of hub with gen vw ones, was fun but got there with a fair bit of grunting a vice and several large sockets! came to the front main arm to chassis bushes, got them out no problem but came to fit the new polys ( Red so called R32 from e-bay) and size was way off, i could of chucked them through with a good aim! about 10mm smaller diameter. Bit the bullet and have ordered powerflex instead but phoned to return the red ones (wh
  8. just get someone to give it a good hard rev while you watch to see if the changeover valve is working which is at the front right of the in let
  9. Shouldn't run out of puff at 4k mine pulls its hardest after then bit flat between 2 and 3 then pulls its head off, yes they're grunty low down but i find they like to be rung to get the best out of them!!
  10. probs is 16 mate just from memory so maybe mistake on my behalf:)
  11. yep i'm 03 bde and 21 front etc
  12. Think it depends on the year, sure earier ones were smaller. 21 front and 17 rear on later cars, 23 front and 19 rear is r32 spec
  13. Check s12 fuse should be 7.5 amp believe its in the main box to right of dash
  14. Thanks for looking will look a bit deeper, may just be the way the power is delivered. Have spent the last 7 years with an remapped 1.8t mk4 and various 8v and 16v mk2's before that, hopefully its just me not used to the refinement.
