  1. Owned them before, good set of wheels, much better then the Lenso BSX.
  2. Yes, i went, parked in the paddock though, didnt really know where or who any of you was. The meet was really good though, thoroughly enjoyed it.
  3. I will be there. Whats the score with this, just rock up to the gate and pay £2? Will i get in if i get there for 7pm?
  4. Hi all Just a quick one before I go and order some. I have a P reg VR6, which would make it a 96, can someone confirm the discs are 288 front and 226 rear? Thanks David
  5. Just replied to you via PM, didnt realise you mentioned the polishing as well. Well i used sandpaper all the way through the scales, made a massive difference and they do have a slight shine to them now but i havent mirror polished them as what i have decided is during the 1st week of august i have a week off of holiday so going to spend a whole week tinkering with the car and wheels.
  6. Hi Can anyone advise of the paint code for a Golf Highline? And does anyone know if you can buy a rattle can off of the shelf that is a similar colour? Thanks David
  7. Hi Can anyone who has shaved the face off of their Mk3 Golf caliper offer me some advice please? My wheels knock the caliper, but i cant fit them with spacers as they are too wide. They are Borbet A's and i know alot of people have them and it appears they shave the front face of the caliper off, but on my later calipers cant really see where to shave off. Can anyone advise if you can shave the later calipers or will i need to change to the earlier ones which dont seem to have the pin facing the outside? Along with this and maybe shaving the pad back down a little i am hoping to get the Borbet
  8. Can anyone else offer some help. I have just offered my new Borbet wheels up at the front, and as expected the caliper rubs. Only prob is with a 10mm spacer they sit well out of the arch! Can anyone advise if they have an ET20 7.5j wheel up front and if so whats the minimum spacer that can be used? I want to sort it this weekend but really struggling with ideas now! Whilst we are here, what is the cheapest and easiest way to adjust camber up front?
  9. I want the rim to look like your picture 5 but leave the rest painted! Looks awsome mate, good job! The rears already have the laquer removed, but the fronts dont, wants the easiest way to remove the laquer without damaging the rest of the wheel?
  10. Hmmm, i thought that may be the case. The only thing we have is Halfords, which i dont mind using but they only sell it per grade in a pack and at £2 per pack and needing numerous grades it will work out expensive.... i dont have a trade card :-(
  11. Random question time! Can anyone advise if automotive sandpaper is the same kind of stuff that you can pick up from say Homebase? I need to do my Borbet A rims which will need to be sanded to shine them but other then Halfords - who has a distint lack of options in sandpaper, there isnt anywhere else in my area that sells sandpaper. Thanks David
  12. Hi all I have been searching this subject on the tinterweb for a couple of days now but cant really find any definitive answer to my query, so i thought i would post on here to see if i can get anyones opinion that has had some first hand experience. Basically i am querying the difference between camber shims and washers. I know shims you 'dial' in the correct camber and can adjust and use more then one, but isnt it easier to use washers? Cant you just input say two washers and then use the same amount the other side to get the correct camber both sides? Also can anyone advise the difference
