  1. Thats what i think i'll end up doing in the end. Thanks again, no doubt i'll have some other query that'll need answering but a good club all-in-all so far 'vr6oc' i have to say :-)
  2. Ok, or i was then thinking to just install a catch tank? I know they say theres no real benefit with a N/A engine but it'd be simple if im right in guessing, as example from the one i've attached - would you then just run a pipe from the catch tank to the crank? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-5L-ROUND-CHROME-POLISHED-ALUMINIUM-OIL-CATCH-CAN-TANK-BLUE-BREATHER-FILTER-/300640072956?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45ff8b74fc#ht_1786wt_952 Thanks for your help and advice mate
  3. I'm hoping anyone can shed some light or tell me whats going on... I got my vr6 with the breather bunged off on the inlet but there was no piping to the crank (as pictured) So i bought a PiperX breather filter and thought nothing of it. Over a short period of time on idle a lot of smoke/vapour would bellow out from the exhaust - whats also strange is that dreaded mayonnaise sludge appeared on the underside of the oil cap so i assumed the worst with the headgasket. I then remembered that when i had an R5 GT turbo previously (tut tut - yeah i know!) it was investigated down to a dirty clogged br
  4. Ok i'll look into those then when i come to wanting to fit the gauges, thanks for the advice
  5. I've already got an oil temperature & oil pressure gauge to install but just wanted to know if anyone had any issues when fitting them with the sandwich/adaptor plate such as: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400273704477?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2188wt_952 Has anyone had any issues with space when fitting the likes of this??... Ideally i'll like to fit them by this adaptor as it seems the easiest way?
  6. Does anyone know a company or give me details to change a mk3 dash to illuminate white? I had found these guys on EBay but they only do blue or red... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270328089134#ht_3404wt_942 Any info would be appreciated!
  7. Being a novice when it comes to cams i may be asking a stupid question but i've been told, how true it is or not, that a set of Schrick 268 cams are suitable for any vr6 lump? I have an OBD1 coilpack motor and have been told that a set from a 'rado vr6 will be suitable? Anyone able to shed any light on this for me? Many Thanks...
  8. Ok thanks for that, i'll rule that out of the misfiring im having at the mo
  9. As per title, do you need to gap NGK BKR5EKU Spark Plugs or can you just bang 'em straight in?...
  10. Agree! So, anyone clarify for me?... lol
  11. Ok well i just thought i'd post this as a feedback for anyone who might wanna do the same + get opinions from anyone else... I've painted the inlet manifold Matt Black as i think that looks awesome on vr6 lumps and was happy with the result. However when i had fitted it earlier the paint has chipped and thats with minimal impact from the ratchet when tightening the bolts - gutted and pee'd off as a result! :-( I didn't apply any primer as its a High Temp paint and as the can said to apply direct, anyone have any idea's otherwise? I think in the future i will send off engine bay parts to be po
  12. Yeah im convinced now that's what it is, well at least i know where i stand... next up will be a rolling road to see how its going :-)
  13. I haven't had my mk2 vr6 for long (its currently hibernating) and i've been collecting a few bits and pieces ready for the better weather to hit the road with it! :-) I know this has been long talked about and discussed but i just want clarification... According to: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?106705 I have an OBD1 lump (as i have pictured my throttle body and that matches) BUT as i've pictured below, the engine is from 01/10/1996 making it a 'P' reg Unfortunately the code stamped on the block itself below it is not visible so im guessing this rocker cover must

    Wheel Boss?

Hello all, my first ownership of a Corrado vr6 so here goes!... I'm wondering how transferable the wheel bosses are with VW? I have a donor mk2 vr6 which is on a 'C' reg (1986) and wondered if the boss would fit on the 'rado? OR a 1991 mk2 Golf?... Any help would be much appriciated, Thanks
  15. Perfect! I was hoping it was that as the one i have my eye on is 80mm. I thought it was 76mm but i'm glad to be proved wrong! :-) Many Thanks
  16. Hi there, I couldn't resist it and had to rejoin after vowing never to get another VR6 again!
