[Timing chains!!!??? Late and early??]

There is no definitive cut over point from when VW switched from double to single top chain.
 
I have seen both 1997 VR's with single and double top chain!
 
You wont be able to use the single as you would also need to change to single pulley setup as well, take the chains back and get the right ones for your engine code, also recommend running later mk4 guide as they are more durable.

Thanks Pete, luckily I bought my kit from VW Heritage when the price was discounted! I have just bought a duplex top chain and hopefully that should do it!

Hi guys, I am in the process of building a turbo motor (donor from a 96 Golf) which has a duplex top row timing chain and just opened the Febi box from VW Heritage and it's a revised single row upper chain!
 
Is it ok to run the revised kit? Or do I need the earlier type?
 
Any pointers guys would be greatly appreciated!

Guys, does anyone know of someone about to break an OBD2 VR who may have a fuse box side engine loom?

[Corrado VR6 OBD2 Swap]

Hi guys, I am after some advise I am building up a VRT Corrado and part of the swap is using a UM chipped ECU which had been run recently in another corrado with I believe an immob defeat wired in.

 

I have my original Corrado soon to have the engine pulled and OBD1 Fuse to Engine harness and a 2.8 engine with its OBD2 loom. Will the two mate and work correctly or do I definately need the engine to fuse box loom aswell? 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys as wiring to me may as well be black magic!

Hi guys, after having a read of multiple threads I am now totally baffled as to which clutch to buy for a low to moderate powered VR6 T I am currently building. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Many seem to be running a standard Sachs set up with good sucess.

Hi guys this is my first post on here as I met a few of you guys down at no rice in Guildford??? I think if my memory serves me right, met a couple of great guys one with a charged r32 mk2 golf sleeper a memory that has stuck with me till now and that was about 5 years ago . After all that I have been a proud owner of my VR and never looked back.

I have been asking on the corrado forum for gearbox advice and knowone wants to even look at my thread.... I drove the corrado back from my parents some 200 miles away the other weekend and I could not help but hear this progressive clicking sound in second... As time has gone on it has become progressively worse, so time for the box to come out!!!

My question is guys I know it sounds duff but will a Sharan box fit the vr6 lump? Im not sure if the bell housing is different or if the ratios will only be good for going uphill or 60mph max lol.

Any help guys would be MUCH MUCH appreciatted.
