2001 VR6 not started this morning key turns, lights go on but no fire, is battery dead or starter/ignition knackered. Has been moody last couple of weeks. Any thoughts? Electrics have been playing about for a couple of weeks, clock and trip all constantly changing/resetting.......very dull

Hi previously reliable 01 VR6 4motion, last couple of weeks I turn ignition, get whirring noise and then all fires ok. Ok today shirring noise....nothing then engine fired. At the same time this started electrics went on clock, thermo and mileage in dashboard. Today heated seats went as well.....just when it is getting cold! Thoughts, most concerned about ignition......
