  1. Following an "incident" at a recent track day I have decided that I want to upgrade my standard brake system. I was thinking about a 312 setup, but I might be tempted to go bigger, maybe a Porsche setup? Anyone got any suggestions? I'm running TT fat fives so I'll have plenty of room to play with I would've thought. Cheers

  3. Is it worth changing engine oil for a track day, if so which oil is recommended? I need to do an oil change anyway and I've got my first ever track day coming up so thought I may as we'll chuck some decent stuff in there.
  4. Cheers for the pointers guys, I managed to crack the nut last weekend with plenty of heat and some gentle persuation from a hammer and chisel. Decat fitted and it sounds awesome!! I suspect that my old cat is knackered - there is alot of loose sounding crap inside when shaken - possibly the filters have crumbled away?? it still passed its MOT a couple of weeks ago tho.

Hi, I'm struggling to get this last nut off at the front of the cat, I've used a nut cracker tool which worked on the other 2 nuts but this one is rusted on good and the tool won't fit up to use on this last nut. I've soaked it in wd40, tried an undersize socket which didn't work, a grinder won't reach in to it either. Anyone got any tips?? Cheers

  7. I've been looking at some compomotive wheels which are 5x100, but they were previously fitted to a subaru. Is there any reason why we can't fit jap spec 5x100s to vw's?
  8. Is there much of an advantage in using the performance fuels available at the pumps, such as Shell v power nitro+ ?? Certainly sounds the part with a name like that, but is it worth the extra money over standard unleaded?
  9. yeah I was looking at getting TT pedals too. Did you have to get 2 x brake pedals in stead of 1 brake and 1 clutch? or the other way round??

  12. I've currently got my front wing off to carry out some sill repair, and thought about adding in a cold air feed or maybe even stretch to a BMC CDA whilst I've got room to work. As you can see from the picture i've currently got a pipercross filter only, and as I plan on tracking my car, I want to increase the amount of cold air in to the system. I can't see that there's much room going down in to the bay as the charcoal filter is in the way of a possible route for an intake feed. Is it worth just getting rid of that to make space? What do people usually do when fitting a CDA for example? Che
