  1. Now, I've had a fair few car not wanting to cool down on me but refreshingly this one doesn't want to get hot! Driving home today and I noticed that me temp gauge was only reading 75 to 80 max and the oil temp on the MAF was reading aroung 82 to 84. now yesterday it was running a normal 90ish (middle of the gauge) and oil temp was around 96. I'm guessing that the thermostat has jammed open but wanted to check if theres anything else I should check on the VR6 when changing this. As a matter of course I'm going to change the blue and yellow temp sensors as I have only just got the car and its a
  2. Just been reading on this, don't fit a 70 thermostat unless you want your car to take longer to warm up and engage the correct fueling map for warm running.
  3. Possible the lambda? My corrado VR6 has this exact same problem and I'm running a new MAF, Plugs, Blue Temp sensor and a perfect ISV (Yes I changed the lot!) Only thing left in the loop is the lambda probe which I've yet to change. If it helps, when you come to a junction in the meantime the only way of stopping the corrado from stalling is to dip the clutch as late as possible eg; when the revs have dipped below 1000rpm with the clutch still engaged.
  4. Just wanted to start a quick discussion on turboing a VR6 in a ghetto stylee! I've seen a lot of kits kitting about from the states but do you think it could be done from a raid at the scrap yard? I've been scratching my head on how to produce a proper ghetto setup to go with the theme of the car, obviously going to need some off the shelf parts like a decompression plate, downpipe and manifold but where should I be looking for a turbo, intercooler etc. Just how cheap can this be done? Any suggestions or wild ideas would be great!
  5. Sounds good to me! I put on the new gearbox mount yesterday and now... well the other two have given up the ghost! Typical! So need to order one rear mount and may grab one of those mounts off ebay. Happy days. A how too would be good as it was a fiddly bugger doing the gearbox mount on the drive but I got it all in with only two axle stands, a trolley jack and some spanners! Not sure the rear engine ones going to be quite so easy though!! I take it these mounts will also fit a corrado as well no hassle
  6. Ok, sounds like a dip in the wallet is called for! Will I get any vibration in the cab from fitting one of these? I noticed that the front subframe is bushed so hoped that would sort that out.
  7. Cheers guys, not a know problem is it? Or is something else prone to leaking around there?
  8. Been trying to sort a few things on the VR6 today, mainly the gearbox mount which was about the worst I've ever seen in ages which got me thinking... I remember reading somewhere on here about using standard rear mounts and a solid front to cure the engine movement problem. Now I've checked ebay and gwerks etc and £50ish to £150ish seems a little steep for a lump of alloy with a bolt through it! Does anyone know anywhere else I can get one cheapish as this is a budget mobile and funds are tight!
  9. Just a quick one. On the oil filter house there are two sensors, which is the one on the right? The reason I ask... Was changing my gearbox mount today and noticed an oil leak at the oil filter housing. As a quick check I cleaned the area with some brake cleaner and got rid of all the old oil traces. I then started the car and let it get nice and hot and re checked for leaks. Oil is leaking and pooling around this sensor but funnily ut apears to be coming from the top near the wire plug! I've got the frount mount to do yet so intend to check and repair anything when I'm there just need to know
