    Hi Guys, a few months later but, I have the same problem which left me at the side of the road on the way to work! Whilst I am English, I moved to France ten years ago. Three years ago my Dad said "Come to England and pick up the VR6. it's yours!". Today, I found myself in the shit with the same problem that you guys had! I'm having some trouble understanding what you finally did to "turn it off will 100% fix it". She will start once after a battery disconnect and then BLOCKED! Disconnect the battery and, good to go ONE TIME ONLY! HELP! Rich

    Hey Pete, Thanks for your advice! Having gone to England and back in 2 days by plane and ferry in a force 9 and then having spent 10 days wrestling with the French authorities and VW France I'm happy to know that you are there for me to correct me on my use of the Caps Lock key!     HAVING JUST IMPORTED A '96 MKIII VR6 TO FRANCE I HAVE TO HOMOLOGATE IT AMONGST OTHER THINGS. HERE LIES THE PROBLEM!!!! THE HOMOLOGATION SYSTEM OVER HERE REQUIRES THAT I MARK DOWN THE FOUR WEIGHTS WHICH ARE FOUND ON THE MODEL PLAQUE UNDER THE BONNET LHS UNDERNEATH THE VIN NUMBER. ON MINE THESE FOUR FIELDS ARE BLANK! SO, COULD ANYONE WITH A '96 FOUR DOOR HATCH PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AND LET ME KNOW ASAP WHAT THEY GOT! AT THE SAME TIME WHAT IS MARKED FOR TYPE? I HAVE; GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT GROSS COMB WEIGHT PERM AXLE WEIGHT FRONT PERM AXLE WEIGHT REAR TYPE. THANKS IN ADVANCE, RICH.
