hi really hope you guys can help me out,ive had my vr6 6 weeks and last night on the way home i was travelling downhill in 4th gear going downhill with the engine in the power band/on the cam waiting for a gap to overtake,when the gap appeared i hit the throttle and noticed a puff of smoke as i overtook other car,i went out again and everything was fine,going to and from work today i had the same puff of smoke,any ideas guys ?? carl

hi all,ive had my vr6 just over a week now and loved every second of it,ive given it a good clean and she comes up very well,ive a rear end problem though....the rear end bounces and feels very twitchy and nervous....,over sleeping policemen the rear end bounces lots......im hoping its not the subframe bushes and only the shocks,any input would be appreciated,carl

i wired it direct and just slighty have the face off to turn it off..works fine,....i did wonder as in the boot of the car was an ignition barrel/switch,key and door handles locks etc,i need to find out it its good or not !

ill try new block connectors.....think my mate has a jvc head unit so may try conecting that too...im sure i can live wih just the sound of the v6 purring and growling till i sort it

thanks guys...still no luck with the head unit though...it plays with ignition switched on but goes off when car is started

hi guys,thanks for your advice last week about buying a vr6...i got it yesterday and love it so much..i did panic when the temp warning light came on but searched the site and found its a common problem,i give her a good clean and driven it about 100 miles and all seems well...im having problems with the cd player,when i turn the igntion on or off the head unit lights up and sometimes plays....im thinking i have a prob between the head unit and ignition switch,does anyone know if i can thread a wire to the live termenal on the battery to the head unit to check this out cheers,arl

hi guys,thanks for your help so far,ive looked at a vr6,its a 1992 with 143,000 miles on clock,its had a new head gasket water pump subframe wishbones pads and timing tensioner,it started straight away with no smoke or rattles and is in pretty decent condition with lots of history and bills,windscreen is cracked and will need replacing for mot in october,it has bbs crosspokes similar or same as fitted to a mk 2 gti...i will keep you informed,cheers,carl
