ive just brought a vw sharan vr6 2.8 it looks like eobd2 but the engine code is AMY i brought it cheap to put engine in to my mk2 golf its already got a vr in it but bottom ends gone,and got this to do a quick engine change but my engine code is AAA and just wanted to know are they the same i dont mind if i got to swop components over ect,just want to make sure the block and head are the same.if some one could help that would me much appreciated.thanks..

I have a mk2 golf with a vr in on a late obd1 with a coil pack 2.8 aaa engine code,and what i wanted to know could i use a obd2 engine with a obd1 ecu ect.i know the thouttle bodies are different but just wanted to know could i swap the bits off of my obd1 engine on to a obd2 as i have killed my engine and want to replace it,and cant get hold of a obd1 with a coil pack,so i was just gunna get a obd2 and swop the bits over from one to the other, IF I CAN if anyone could help me that would be great thanks.
