  1. I'll try running as the administrator as i've not tried that, otherwise i'll get the demo copy from ross tech and see if i get any joy with that.
  2. I've just checked it again and when the software has finnished trying to cominicate it brings up a warning window saying the software has stopped working and windows tries to find a solution but fails.
  3. OK so I purchesed a VAG COM lead and software. When I installed it onto my laptop (running Vista) and then hooked it up to the car all I can do is the OBDII check. It confirms that there is communication between the car and the laptop however; when I run any diagnostics I get a communication error and no result from the test. I've checked the com port settings and everythng there looks to be ok. Is there any issues with Vista or any thing else I may have missed? Thx in advance.
  4. We'll probably have a run down, its only a 30 minute drive away for us!
  5. OK thx for the help, in this case then I think I may require a new stalk as it doesnt matter which position the switch is in, the unit just wont reset unless i disconnect the battery terminal.
  6. You mean the 2 point postion on the stalk? If so is it supposed to re-set if its set to position 1 and on the same matter if I flick it to the 0 postion does this re-set it also?
  7. thx, so basically its remembered when i've removed the battery clip to reset the ecu? Another point, the reason I did that was because the MFA doesnt re-set when I start a new journey? Any clues?
  8. Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I have a 1998 mk3 Golf VR6 OBDII. I had the error codes read when I bought it just to be sure that everything is as it should be and it threw up an error code of 029C battery terminal 30 voltage 'signal too low' I have searched the net high and low to find an answer to this without any joy what so ever. The nearist thing to it i found was regarding a relay on a 2000 model Scoda. Any help would be much appriciated as this is the last problem to fix on my little beuty before I start playing with cosmetics of the car.
