    Apparently it's mechanically ready for the remap as it's the Golf engine... But, as you can guess, I'm not the expert, so I'll double check. Thanks for the response. Any thoughts on the economy question?

    My enthusiastic mechanic is offering to remap my 140 bhp Caravelle camper 2.9 VR6 to 180 or more. Apart from the increase in power and torque (I'm interested in towing a boat), are there any benefits or costs in fuel terms?
