    cheers mate, just a bit worrying as it sounds like a quiet straight cut box!which is cool but its the g friends car and she thinks its less cool!! but she ordered it knowing it might be a bit more noisy. anyway if other people could let me know if this whine is normal. cheers

    fitted one of those vibra technics gb mount as the vw one was a bit pants. fitted all fine, easy job tighted all the bolts up sweet i thought! ran the car up the road 100% better gear change nice and tight but now the gear box is making a whine(from the word go) should it do this as the mount is harder or does anyone elses do this?? i new that it might vibrate a bit but why is it making the g box whine? oh and the g box had no whine before i put the v t mount on! could some one get back to me on this as its a bit of a worry. thanks in advance lee

    i had this problem with my cat( 97 vr6) blowing ,look at the rear of the cat (exhaust box end) and there seems to be a hole which looks like there should be a bolt in it but on mine it was missing hence the blowing i just plugged it with a bolt of the right size for the hole.have a look mate might be your problem too?

    right, my girlfriends golf vr6 (p reg) has a little mayo under the oil filler cap she does about 8miles a day 4 to work 4 back thats it, is this just condensation build up as when i have a !!!my poor car!!!! drive as she puts it at the weekend ,it goes .i change the oil in it every 3000 miles with millers 10w 40, so can i just put it down to short trips? sorry to ask a probably commen question but being a jap car owner which it only get driven at weekends and having a van for work i never have this problem.so is this a commen thing with vw,s (think i heard afew of the vag cars has this proble

    #update# changed fuel filter car felt better but the pump was still buzzing so i pulled the pump out and gave it a good clean (lots of debris in the bag) put it back in the tank and what do you know buzzing gone pump quiet as a mouse!!! good job really as gsf wanted £270 for a new pump!! just a quick thought i suppose if any of your pumps are noisy give it a good clean first before you buy!!!

    just been trying to bleed my clutch on the vr6 (doing it the old fashion way girlfriend in car me opening and closing the nipple and topping up) it went well on the first few pumps then the problem arose the pedel only goes half way down then stops and wont go no further is the pedal ajustable as it seems its getting stuck.im used to bleeding the clutch on jap cars so im no stranger to it, but this is pi$$ing me right off as its getting stuck halfway can someone PLEASE shed some light on this.cheers

    my vr6 has a noisy fuel pump just a constant whine really, even when it is driving its always making that said noise is it time for a new one or is this the norm on these cars is it safe to be driving it like this also.cheers

    hi, right i need some help please,(im new so bare with me)the standard side skirts on the golf vr6 (97 spec) have a plastic strip that seems to clip on to the exterior of the skirt the one on my passenger side is a little rusty and i would like to replace it where would be the best place for one is it a oem part or can gsf get some thing in like that for me? cheers
