  4. just wondering of anyone happens to know the internal diameter of the top rad hose, the one with the T off to the expansion tank? the OD looks to be about 40mm so I'm guessing its going to be around 36mm but just wondered if anyone knew?!
  5. yep pin 22 is, but I'm after the switched power, which in the link says is a thick red/blue in the ecu loom, which I don't have so I'm assuming as its a corrado its OBD1 where as I'm OBD2! so just trying to find out either the colour or pin No for switched power for an OBD2 ecu. thanks
  6. yep pin 22 is for the green/black rpm signal. yeah I'm OBD2 so if you could check that would be awesome! cheers
  7. thanks I've already seen that but couldn't see a thick red/blue wire? I'm wondering if theres a difference between OBD1 and 2? any idea what the pin number is? thanks again though!
  8. Hey, can someone tell me which colour wire or pin No is switched power to the ecu? I've got the green/black rpm signal wire and the thick brown for earth. or is there anywhere else to run the switched power from? cheers
  9. Hi, I've been trying to think of, and do a search but can't really remember what I'm looking for.... the top rad hose that 'T's of to the expansion tank. I'm sure there was a ford part of some sort suggested to replace the origional vw part which often breaks, or an aftermarket peice, does any one know what I'm talking about? a part number would be very handy if you do! cheers
  10. ok while changing them have encountered a rather difficult problem, hopefully the picture will explain, basically the top of the strut has split so can't hold it to undo the nut! any ideas???!!!

  13. well gone and got some oe ones fron vw anyway, need to do them this weekend so can't wait around for some poly ones. Came in at about £45 for both sides with bearings. I guess we'll have to see what they say about these ones, though I have remembered that a check I had done at the phirm also advised on top monts so maybe they are gone after all?
  14. Hi, car failed its MOT on one top mount and the other was an advisory, but searching back through some old posts it looks like mk3 top mounts often wrongly get failed/advisorys as they do have some play as normal? I'm wondering wether to go back and ask for a retest on them, and explain that its a common mistake? anyway if I do need new tops mounts I'm looking at some uprated poly ones from venom, or do I stick with standard vw? cheers for any help!
  15. is this the same for OBD1 and 2? cheers
  16. can I ask why you wouldn't shave off the hump? is it because it will change the air flow on part throttle?
  17. ok so mostly its what other jobs to do whilst i'm in there? I've got new plugs and leads to go on, are there any other things it'd be rude not to do, check, clean etc?! also do you need to replace the gaskets, what parts do I need, and where to get them, do GSF do them? where is best to mount the vacuum tank, and ecu, where have others got them? thanking you!
  18. ah ok cool thanks lads, so what are the differences between the throttle elbows?
  19. how can you tell if a schrick is for OBD1 or OBD2? are there any serial numbers to check or are there obvious parts differences? ta muchly!
  20. cool thanks guys, yeah I didn't think it was the matrix as I haven't been loosing any water. will check all the areas suggested!

  23. I beleive this is for the yearly service. Just wondering what work is recommended? all filters? fuel filter also? carbon filter? plugs? what type are specified? leads? coolant change, brake fluid? also what oil is best to use, synta silver seems to have been discontinued and fuchs recommended in its place? so any advice on the work to be carried out and best products to use would be great, cheers in advance!
