Lol well my VDUB is all good now...back up and running, turned out my head gasket was totally blown and was already on it's way out...has been crud for ages... But yeh it's all fixed and is working pretty darn well now...better than before =D

I wanted to take my VDUB to the authorised VW dealers in Auckland but it's quite a distance from my house...I had no way of getting it there.

Cheers for the replies! The thing is that my VR6 is already in the garage and has been taken apart so I can't really do too much now. They have already said they will de gas the air con and fix the crack pipe and oil cooler. Is there any ways that they can tell the headgasket has blown before taking it all apart and looking at it properly? I think I remember him saying he did some tests and that confirmed that it has gone. Something them smelling something funny. But I was too pissed off to take full notice of what he said over the phone lol

Hey guys I just took my 97 VR6 to a garage near my house for some repairs. The inital problems were as follows:- -Water Bypass pipe was leaking (which actually blew over the weekend) -Oil leak in the Oil Cooler Now after taking the car in today and they have looked at these problems...it's come back at around $1000NZD to do these repairs. That would also include servicing the radiator, flushing the cooling system and de gasing and re gasing the air con so that the radiator can be serviced. Hey guys, I've recently taken my VR6 for a service to get it up to scratch etc and it has come back with a couple of problems. Firstly I have a leak in my cooling system and it's to do with the water bypass pipe. Now basically I'm looking to see if I can replace this myself as it is a fairly minor repair. If anyone here from New Zealand is able to quote me prices on this part and where I can get it then please let me know???
