  2. well it wont be the earth wire as i forked out and bought a new one so looks like the alternator will be going bk to my local vw breakers for a refund/part ex
  3. hi guys as you know i have been havin problems getting my vr6 started but she now runs sweet as anut apart from the battery light is always on and drinks the battery dry is this my alternator dead or a sticky relay as thats the only two things i think it can be as its a brand new battery cheers Ash
  4. yeh i got a new starter as my old one was getting lazy but it does work 100% as was in a running car
  5. yeh it turned over when i had just replaced the guides and chains without the belt on
  6. and yes the starter does get hot it has smoked abit
  7. i tryed that when it was out of then car and it was fine.. not tryed since its been put back in
  8. how long is a little bit? 3 seconds but it was turning very slow
  9. hi guys been pon the case all day the earths all seem to be working spot on as i tested with a voltmeter engine did turn for a little bit but i really seems to be struggling the starter is fine as checked it again so i am really really stuck as cant put my finger on why the clocks are resetting when trying to start!? i think im going to tow it up and down the road and bump start it
  10. tryed it mate still no difference i think im going to take out the engine and check the engine loom as i think it may of got damaged putting it back in
  11. ok mate will have another look but have not touched any of that since doing the conversion i cant really describe where my earth cables are so i will get some pics up 2moz
  12. how did he over come this? it did yesterday turn over for about 1 second but had no luck since i would bump start it but if the clocks are resetting then dont want to force it to start
  13. yeh they are not wired up yet but are 100% not engaged
  14. there is no alarm or immobiliser installed at the moment due to wanting to get it working before adding it in, i am convinced its a earth problem but all i have done is remove the old engine and taken the gearbox off and fitted the engine loom from the old engine to the new one so maybe a wire has split and earthing out on something? (i am running a obd1 golf vr6 engine with a coilpack)

  16. hi guys i have put a vr6 in my polo and its now on its second engine due to a chain guide snapping and killing itself! i got a lower mileage cleaner engine i have been building up over the past 3 months and its all wired up and it just will not start! the starter is clicking but there is plenty of juice to turn it over but i have noticed that the clocks are reseting so i checked the earths cleaned them all and tryed using a jump lead to check the earth on the engine and the starter and it still just clicks and resets the clocks any ideas? cheers Ash

  18. anyone tell me were i can find a place on the internet to buy a new high oil pressure sensor? cheers
  19. changin them over made no difference still had a oil light flashin and buzzer was going plus done a oil pressure check and she is lush! im confussed! can i not just rip the wires off and have a oil pressure gauge insted? it would b alot better as i would b able 2 see before hand if theres problems
  20. hi guys i have just finished building my vr6 polo and have found when she hits 3k the oil light comes on the dash also beeps and flashes but when i turn her off and back on the beep and light stops till she hits 3k again then its back! she has no problem staring or revin right 2 top revs so whts the problem? cheers Ash
