    As above needing a cat back system for the mk3 and have been offered one from a vr6 corrado - will it fit? I'm thinking not without hassle but just to check

    Yeah the cannister is all but useless now, although i'm not going to bother taking it out as it's not actually in my way and is now quite securely tied up. I'm a bit stumped by the yellow plug as i've actually just located the pcv which is nowhere near the cannister itself so i'm at a total loss as to what the plug is and what actually fell out of my engine bay!

    I was driving home tonight when i heard something hit the drivers side of the car underneath me, didnt sound bad so i just assumed that i had went over something small i hadnt spotted inthe road. When i went home however my carbon cannister was hanging from the drivers side of the car, the clip/ screw holding it on to the bracket had come off and it was only being held on by its hoses. I've now simply cable tied it up but have a couple of questions. There is a yellow connector which sits in the engine bay just above the cannister, it's not connected to anything now, i', guessing this was the p

    Hmm, see i didnt pay too much attention to the cams as i wasnt gonna mess with anything. The car's had schrick cams installed a few years ago but i'm assuming the timing would be the same. Can't see any reason why not. I suppose as long as i can get the tool in to ensure the cams dont move i'll be happy, wether they're a little out or not

    I've had a look today and my plastic guide for the timing chain is broken a little, and this appears to be what is causing the bit of noise i'm getting, I'm gonna replace this and the tensioner bolt, but i'm just wondering - will it matter if i dont have the vw tool to hold the shafts at TDC? - as i wont be messing with anything that could alter the timing i wouldnt think it's necessary? or am i being foolishly naive and should make myself something up just to be safe? I know it's a better idea just to do the whole chains etc but this is something i'm comfortable doing myself and there is also

    Checked the leads, werent inthe best of nick so i changed them. Checked coilpack as well which as far as i can tell is fine. no real change to the hesitation tho. I've noticed it only does it when hot too Stuck the car on vag com, there were some old codes on there which i cleared and nothing else came back up bar the abs sensor which i already knew about. Pulled the MAf, problem was still there so im now officially stumped!!

    I'm getting an odd kind of hesitation with my '97 vr6 it's onyl happening at about 1800-2000 revs, and is happening when i lift off the throttle. Its like the power takes a big step down then jumps back up again when coming back on at part throttle. It's a bit annoying as 2k revs is exactly where i find myself alot of the time when pottering around in traffic. I'm going to check HT leads and Coil pack then maybe the MAf (but in my experience maf problems would cause hesitation going up the rev range not down) then maybe clean cam position sensor. After this i'm stuck, any other suggestions?
