    As menioned car makes a saxaphone type noise when letting foot off acclerator and changing gear ONLY like air is getting blocked somewhere is really noticable when cold but dies down when warm but if radio is off you can hear it ....its almost like a mini turbo spool when u dip clutch to change gear and put foot on accelerator....any idea? i have heard something about secondary air injection but cannot locate where this? Any help appreciated.... PS - could this be a breather pipe blocked?

    whats the score with the parts numbers I can see many on eBay as SD7V16 but the longer part number varies with the last letter suffix eg. 357 820 803 R or F or N does this matter for a 1997 VR6 with climate control? Can I use one from a sharan VR6? TIA

    by the way where exactly is this secondary air pump located? I cant see it ...I hear more of the noise inside the car than outside when the bonnet is popped open.

    thats a fair point, shall i just remove all coolant from lower rad hose..use a flush additive then run that flush that out then put in the G12 stuff? do i need to bleed the system or anything such? Thanks

    can this be done? the new G12+ apparently can mix with G12 (pink) and G11 (blue) looked on a few threads and had mixed opinions ...anyone done this here?

    Now thats a good find! so not being stupid but if I am hearing the noise does that mean the air pump is working or the solenoid is stuck asd per point 2? . "Solenoid valve or combi-valve has failed. Air pump gets 12v and runs but cannot dump air into exhaust through closed valve. If you can hear your air pump run this might be the case."

    Hi just had climatronic regassed and dyed up no leaks, the compressor does kick in 1. AC on from start cold air for bit 2. cools down to cabin temp 3. comes on cool again for while, the warmer again 3. compressor seems to switch on and off every now and then guy who topped up suggested pressure drop is to do with compressor its self I dont want to fork out a new one...ist a1997 vr6 with climatronic anyone breaking a compressor for this? I have had it scanned with VAG COM no issues there. can i use one out of a VR6 Sharan/ford Galaxy VR6? seems to be a few breaking on ebay Thanks in advance

    RCF - No its not a belt whine more like a pump whine but only noticable from cold once warmer it gets quiter ... Xyber - so what exactly is this noise? I tried to a search on here could not find anything....is it anything to worry about?

    Hi no sorry its not dependant on the gear change or clutch as such...even if i am parked in neutral and rev the caras it revs down you hear this whine, or pump like sound although it does not hinder the cars performance in anyway....i initially thought it might be the aux pump running or a breather hose blocked just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this kind of sound.

    its a 1997 VR6 OBD2 ....all is well really ....just a werid noise maybe electric pump? basically when driving if I accelerate then let foot off gas to change gear i hear a whining which start loud then goes soft very quick (not mechanical) kind of sound which seems like its comming from top of engine. Could this be the aux pump running or a breather pipe blocked? Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks

    true they do seem good value esp with a 2 year warranty, so anyone on this forum had these fitted or sat in a car with them fitted in??

    comming from the mk4 golf scene first I would say this is common across VAG cars, get a scan done if you can with VAG-COM to tell you what the fault is...9/10 its either sensor, Exciter ABS ring, or the ECU connection to ABS unit needs to be unplugged and cleaned with electrical cleaner as I found out! HTH

    Seen these, a few have recommended them but I wanted to know if anyone has had first hand experience of them, now I realise they are budget kits but then so are the likes of FK AK ect so would like to know if anyone has tried and tested these below?     yes everything actually seems to work ok, which is weird but my flashing used to be intermittent now it happens all the time. Wonder if this fan and sensor are avaible from breakers ect , would hate to see what stealers would charge for this!

    oh pic of the fan will be cool im stuggling with this code too, however my fan settings work ok i.e slow up and down and also auto does do somthing so but ive never really bothered to read exactly what or how AUTO function works...I can def see the logic of the sensor and small fan in assisting the AUTO function to do its job.
