  1. I smashed the headlight on my 4 motion the other day; I have the replacement part (full unit). If there anything I need to consider before changing it, and is it an easy job? It looks like I have to drop the bumper off the take the lower brackets out?? If anyone has changed one before I would appreciate there advice. Cheers guys!
  2. Mine is the same too, used the scissor jack to change a wheel and the jack slipped and put a hole under the car, as you can imagine i was pissed. I took mine to a friend and he welded steel plates just past the jacking point, i now use a low blue print trolly jack with the rubber plate.

  4. Fairly new to the club and dont come on here a great deal, however its time i made some VR6 friends to go to shows with and learn more about the car etc.. So if anybody in the area of wakefield would fancy a monthly meet, let me know what you think.   6. I want to take it off and get a magnex or miltek cat-back mate, The powerflow is too noisy and im forever polishing the tail pipe because of corrosion.
  7. Want to get my car on the rollers for a tune, but is there anything i could do to make a little more quicker before hand? And any ideas on what BHP i should have now? I have Ported and polished the throttle body, BMC air filter, 6 branch, powerflow zorst, de-cat, k1 racing leads??
  8. I heat wrapped the manifiold really well and made another heat sheald for the manifold. i changed the plugs and leads for some kn racing leads and this solved the problem. Hope this helps. Ric
  9. Check the leads and make sure you aint got any cracks/splits in them. Then you could try pulling the leads out 1 at a time (then replacing so engine dont cut out) and when the spark stops`s, chances are its rhat lead mate.
  10. Drove my car all day and it was fine, parked it up and than. Went back after 5 minutes and the thing wont start. All lights and electrics work fine, but the last turn on ignition there is nothing, No clicking, tryed wires and batt, wiggled wires on alternator and still no joy. Can anyone help, or is anyone in the wakefield area with VAG COM that would like to help a fellow vr6 owner? Iv just bump started her and she`s runs and drives ok, yet turn the engine off and she wont start again.   11. Ok today i went and thrashed it cold and the problem had gone, however when the car warmed up it started again. Could this be the cat ar the exhaust? Please help its doin my head in. Thanks Ric
  12. My stainless 6-2-1 manifold came today so within in 4 hours id fit it. However on puting the car back together its now not running right! It judders and holds back under 2000rpm. Iv tried unplugging the air sensor, still the same. Iv taken it out for a long run after fitting, no joy there. I took the throttle body off and cleaned the shite out of it. Could it be the leads/plugs? Could it be the cat? The car was fine before i changed the manifolds over now its poorly.

  14. Thanks mate, thats made me feal a little better, il change the oil and have the chains looked at? What oil should i use?
  15. Ok, my vr makes a ticking noise when i start the engine, its loudest at near the alternater side of the engine and its bugging me, its not very loud but its there! A friend said change the oil, it may be too thin etc. But before i do so i thought id ask you guys?? Second thing is my oil, i took the oil cap off and noticed a very small amount of white stuff on it. The oil was very hot as id been thrashin her minutes before, but again im not sure this is right. (its looked like 2/3 drops of milk on the cap) And just to add, the oil was smoking when i took the cap off!! Thanks ric
  16. I won a power boost valve on ebay for £20. The guy sent me the item, but with no idiots guide?? How do i fit the thing? Or should i not bother at all? Cheers Ric
