  3. hey guys, well im stripping my engine at the moment and have can across a slight proble.... i cant seem to get the alternator off? i have removed the belt and tensioner and the bolts that go from left to right through the alternator bracket, is there any other bolts/nuts that i should be looing for??? thanks, keith
  4. hi guys, looking for some advice about the crankshafts for the 2.8 and 2.9 engines. i currently have a 2.8 AAA engine and i have it out of the car for tuning and full rebuild. i was thinking of putting a 2.9 corrado crankshaft into the engine i have..... is this possible. i am aiming to achieve the longer stroke then re-bore to around the 3lt mark, if possible??? has anybody bored to larger than 3lt in the AAA engine?? whilst on the subject of boring what is the maximum you guys would recommend for the AAA engine?
  5. hey guys, jus a bit of advise needed!!!! im looking to upgrade my diff and gearbox and was wondering what was the best option to go for??? i have been looking on the quaife website but major money there :@ lol!! any ideas please??? thanks
  6. hi, that deal does sound great and i am looking a lovely shrick 4 the project lol!! could you post up the information???
  7. the tool, if im not mistaken is just a ring compressor and you can pick these up from most good motor factors!! you do however need to go in via the top of the engine, but it can still be done whilst the engine is in the car!! if your doing it yourself you need to make sure you know what your doing and know how everything goes back together and the correct torque figures for all of the engine bolts. the sump will have to come off anyway to release the conrods form the crankshaft! whilst down there i would jus replace all the big end bearings, just to be safe
  8. hi, did they carry out a "wet" compression test at the same time as the normal compression test? a wet test tells you if your rings are gone, r u burning oil? if ur not burning any oil then it could be your head gasket!! what mileage has the engine covered?
  9. i did here that the FK set up is ok, found one 2 fit 4 around £230 which i thought was quite good but then after lookin round a bit on d forum found dey can sieze!! wouldnt b up 4 dat!! thanks 4 the help guys, think i will save my money a bit, im stickin 16"s on so still unsure on what the maximum lowering would be!!! what sort of Koni set up do you guys have, an where would be the recommended place 2 get dem from??
