  1. wot sort o paint did you use to paint your gearbox and engine? was it specail heat proof paint i would imagine? if so where ya get it. an awsome job you done there mate, i have that to look forward to. hope it aint 2 bad a job! lol
  2. when you shave your engine bay, and when you see this in alot of pics, they have the cold air intake running down through the hole in the chasis legs,with thye filter underneath, does anyone know of anywhere that sells these cold air intake pipes in chrome preferably? and also i am looking at getting a full stainless system front to back , what system would you recommend, i was thinking miltek and it has to be twin 79 mm rounds, and also is it best with cat in or out because i dont want alot of noise. cheers
  3. just a quik question on timing chain,tensioners and guides removal and re fitting, i have read the guide over and over and just have 2 question b4 i go and tackle it myself. to know that cylinder no.1 is at tdc, do i just make sure the little notch on the pulley lines up with the mark on the block and the timing slots are horizontal? is this all or is a little more complicated? and also when everythin is replaced and put back together, will the timing be ok if i have not move the pulleys or anything? not even a mm? or will it still be out and i will have to get the timing done again? therefore

  5. thanks alot guys just wanted 2 know if it could realisticly be done. ye a think the best idea would be to go with a lhd syncro and convert it to rhd. but anyways a could just go with it being fwd with launch control etc. does this actually work well? there is a guy in my town with a 350-400hp mk2 golf, an s3 engine i think, built by bedrok dubs, and he hes lsd and launch control, also is only fwd but i watched this thing rip up the tarmac in the rain, no wheel spin just grip grip and more grip, was amazin? thanks again
  6. not really sure where to put this but i will fire it in here and see how it goes. basiccly i have the idea of a s/c vr with around 400-500 hp, but i dont want just front wheel drive, i want 4, so i was thinking, taking into consideration the amount of work and money but at the same time an awsome project. a 4 wheel drive mk3 vr. is this possible to do by stealing the floorpan from a syncro, and welding it into the 3 door uk model, as i understand all syncros are left hand drive and 5 doors. what waould all this work entail, would there be any prob with the left to right hand dive change with t
  7. rite guys, dis is a weird one, on my 97 vr, the drivers elec window is acting up. it wont go up or down. instead when you press the button it makes a weird whining noise but nothing happens, and when u use the drivers side switch to control the passanger window it doesnt work going down, but if you click press to go up you can hear the relay clickin on the passanger side. also the lights go very very dim on the window switch illumination as though it is takin all the cars power away. as in the illuminated light switches almost go out but all other lights jst dim very very litle.i have also tri
