Alrite people. Im looking at buying a mulberry highline around the year 1997, so roughly p-reg. I have seen a couple with about 115k mileage but I am wary as to whether they will be good buys at around 3k. The thing is I have heard a lot of stories about the timing chains snapping or the tensioners going, so I was hoping someone could give me a rough price of how much it is to get the timing chain/tensioners/guides done, the works basically? I really do need a price, as I will need to take this into account if I do buy one, so if you guys can give me some prices id very grateful particulary th

cheers for the replys. got my spark plugs and thankfully the juddering and hesitation has gone away. i havent let my car warm up as it cant; you know why? because one of the bloody water pipes has a leak and the engine coolant level light comes on after a bit. sorry to hear bout the main dealer experience matth76, you would have thought they would do a proper job. arghhhhh when will these problems stop?

Alrite people. Iv got a 93 Golf VR6. The car has started to hesitate on acceleration and on revving the engine; sounds like a misfire as it also judders when driving in any gear. I was hoping any of you guys out there could give me some help as to what it could be. I have bought a set of spark plugs as I thought they could be the problem or the ignition leads, i have yet to fit them. Also (dont mean to be a pain in the a** with all these questions, lol) but there is a popping sound everytime i rev the engine and let go; what could this be? Cheers guys.
