  2. Climatronic flashing upon starting does signify a fault - mine does it just now! Best to get it checked on a VAG-Com machine to find out what fault codes it is throwing up - get them to clear the old codes, and run it for a minute or two to make sure you only get the current codes. Hopefull it may just need regassed.
  3. Paul, do you find throttle response better with the decat? Have you had the car on rollers before fitting all this so you can do a back to back comparison? (assuming you are bothered!)
  4. oops - should really have put this in the Wheels section!! My bad - it was late and I was tired.
  5. Anyone know if these will fit on a VR? They are 5x100 but not sure of offset/brake clearance. Don't suppose anyone has heard of them being fitted to a VR/Mk3?
  6. Yup, sorry mate forgot to say I likes the zorst! Should make quite a difference. Sorry for the h/j btw.
  7. I have just come to my VR from a 2.2 Prelude VTEC with cat-back system, induction kit, uprated brakes, etc. 197bhp It's a totally different drive - the Prelude is manic top end, from 5,200rpm until 7,600rpm the VTEC roar is fantastic and the car is very accomplished (especially 4-wheel steering coupled with strut braces, and coilovers like mine had). But now I like the torque of the VR, it's a much more relaxed drive. Better in some ways, nots as good as my Prelude in others.
  8. I'm sure you can get Chase HQ for MAME - i'll look for the ROM online. (In case any of you don't know about MAME it's a Multi Arcade Machine Emulator that you run on your PC and it plays all the old arcade machine games - including Star Wars!!).
  9. I have removed my airbox tonight and fitted a cone air filter I had on my Honda Accord. When sitting with the engine ticking over I heard a rythmic ticking coming from a little black cylinder about the size of a matchbox that has an electrical connection, as well as rubber tubes - one goes to a reservoir type thing behind the offside headlight (set into the inner wing) the other side goes up to the PCV valve. It ran for a minute or two then stopped. Can anyone advise what this is please? And should I be worried about this ticking/throbbing noise? Also, how have you guys fitted cold air feeds a

Had the error cleared at lunchtime by a VW mechanic and it's not come back on so it's all peachy!

    Airbag Light

Thanks for putting my mind at ease mate! Only reason I ran it with the airbag disconnected is cos I wanted to try and rule out various bits of dash that could have been squeaking.

    Airbag Light

Thought i'd spend the night tracking down the really annoying squeak I have on the LHS dash of my VR. Finally tracked it down to the little heater flap way underneath the lower glovebox, directly behind the fan blades! Only found this after removing glovebox, tweeter, dash vents, and airbag. Ran the car without the airbag plugged in for a while. Now i've put it all back together I have the airbag light on all the time %-6 I disconnected the battery when removing/reinstalling and was very careful handling it. Would the ECU keep a historical error code even tho the airbag has been plugged back i
