does anyone know were i can find the clutch positioner vacum valve, only had the car two days and the engine light has come on, think its something todo with cruise control

after 7 years with the hand brake warning light on iv`e finally fixed it, had to put a new hand brake cable on for the mot, had my son helping in the car whlie i was working under the car, he took the hand brake off the car and noticed the wire`s were bare touching the cars bodywork, a bit of soldering and no red light, just had to make sure the wire`s go over and not under the handbrake to the switch.

Less than a week to find mine,parked in the pub car park in Anstey, then saw it in auto trader for sale, had the AA check it out had some faults so brought it !.Had it 8 years now and it never breaks down. 246000 miles so far,did the gearbox bearings last year a bit worn out nice and quiet now. best car i`ve owned.

repiaced the cv joint, nice and quiet now, was`nt a lot of grease in the joint plus a bit of water no wonder it was knocking, only took 2 hours

sounds like the outer constant velocity joint ,iv`e got the same problem, fitting a new one later, dont think it`s the strut tops

sorted the hand brake,fitted a new cable, good has new now. the old cable had a few splits in it which wont help.

had a look under the car to check , looked ok, might strip it down tomorrow, but the brakes work fine,

i took the nuts of completely conected the cable to the caliper but then the cable was to short to fix back, thought about fitting a new cable but might be shorter because its new

fitted a new brake caliper, put the old pads back in but now the handbrake cable is to short, anybody have any good ideas to fix it

just finished fitting a new heater matrix, the only thing that don't work is the fan, think i put all the wire's back,still a bit damp near the fan ,hoping it's a fuse gone

I fitted new top mounts last june and the mot man said they need replacing again !i used gsf mounts but have ordered new pair fron vw main dealer, oniy £25.i have Eibach coilovers fitted which i think are the same as FK,just wondering if i've fitted them right, but you can't really go wrong !

youv'e put me of doing my wishbones,the rear bushes are worn,not sure what to replace them with,poly or original.all the bolts will come of but not tryed the 3 13mm.thinking of buying new wishbones and getting the bushes pressed in,then all i've got to do is take the old ones of and fit the new ones,sounds easy,bit like when i changed the rear wheel bearings !
