just got back frtom vw main agents they were 9 codes came up they said that there was no actual electrical fault but on my way home thrashed it bo##ocks off it. then it came back alive and shot off like a rocket. will see how it goes these next few days? put a huge smile back on my face anyway.

mines gone like yours now mate. sounds like one of them subaru things. now with no power :-( booked in for wednesday when i finish work. will let u no what they find wrong with the dam thing.

cheers for the pointers mate. havin to bite the bullet and book it in at vw and ask them to find the fault can't afford to keep throwin money at the dam thing. this thing is really doin my head.

the plugs r new and the leads r silicone brand new as well. I have been thinking it could be the coil pack.

got a bit of a strange one. started missfiring a few weeks ago so i ordered some new silicone leads fit them and its still the same but when you floor the thing it flys but it wont drive round town!?? !amazed x) ?! ?!

hi. got a bit of a strange one? i get a strong smell of something cant really describe it but smells like burnt oily strange as f**k. but this only happens when i'm on lift off and there has to be a window down to smell it. everyone i've asked hassent got a clue or tell me to shut the window(funny bast**ds). NEED TO GET RID OF IT!!!!!!!!!! !amazed ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ plus just spent 2k on rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!

i used a local company to where i live called lockstick engineering. based in rochdale had 0.5 mm rebore then the place that fit the rings honned it out and flaired the top of the bores so they wouldnt brake any more rings.

hi just 2 let every1 no its now week 6 and still no engine well ive got the block just a firm specillising in vr6 engine siad they would put the piston and rings in on the first attempt they f***ked up completely and broke two sets of rings and put 2 massive scores down two of the bores x) x) !amazed !amazed .just spent 1200 on the block and pistons. %-6 . hopefully next week now

I'm in the middle of my full engine x) rebuild but come across a bit of a snag!!!! Because of the angle of the bores a standard piston fitting clamp won't work????????? Has anyone got any ideas that i can use to get the pistons in??????? cheers %-6 !ill

rebuild is well under way nothing really major stood out when we strippped it down waiting for the engineering place now so we can start putting the jigsaw back together again. Havin to have a rebore but cant afford to have a oversize rebore. hope to be back up and running by next weekend.!!

got price for my re build between £1200 and £1500 but thats for EVERYTHING but not oversize rebore should start strip down in about 2 weeks. bit nervius incase when we strip it down the things completely bo**ocksed.

my cars done 120k. engine it self sounds fine no rattles. hopefully should have a price for rebuild next week !amazed x) :@ cheers for your tips.

when i bought the car i then took it to my mate who fixes all my cars and he serviced it for me. also when the engine is warm and you lift off the throttle you then start to get a strange smell inside which smells like burnt oil????? &| &| :@ ?! .the book which i got is a bently book?!!

hi i just bought a vr6 had it a couple of months now. got problems .my engine has started to smoke and drink oil. my mates all recon that its ring that have gone????? x) so looks like full rebild. any advise with this project would be much app ?! do i need the tool to lock cams up??? can any1 suggest somewhere cheap for engine parts???? also got hold of book from u.s.(covers all golf engines) is this book sh*t or is there no book that covers this engine properly????? %-6 x) :@ &|
