  1. depends on a few things

1st genuine weak link is clutch i have a shell helix and im running about 390 lb ft (having said that the stock clutch felt fine to me with that much i only changed it because it was worn out)

the gearbox itself is next which seems to be an issue up past 450-500 lb ft

  2. probably not me the charger MIGHT be ruined :(

tootling down the road low rpm i hear a very faint noise reminding me of the vortech charger on the vr hmmmmm turned radio off dropped out of gear over the next 10 secs it gets a little louder then engine stalls. i instantly thought charger took cap off oil reservoir bit of steam/smoke in there but no oil :bigcry:

2 likeley possibilities are it dropped the oil in a hurry which means it wasnt low for very long or its leaked out over the last 5 days and its siezed the charger :bigcry: :bigcry:

if its the latter im stuffed as i cant afford another charger  i was sure id got it down to the last hicup before its 100% sorted. this car has been an absolute basterd to me recently stupid sensor faults have been drivin me mad now this

  3. Having a rather interesting debate with a friend at work.

He clocked me pulling into the car park with them on and so felt necessary to ask me why i had them on.

I explained that the snow was coming down hard making visibility really difficult and i was struggling to see other road users' date=' thus determining they were struggling to see me so i made the decision to turn them on, i sitll couldnt see them very well but wanted to make myself more visible to them.

Visibility wasnt more than 40 meters when i drove in, the legal maximum for using fogs is 100m, so considering my visibility was less than 50% of that it made sense

It appears he is seriously hung up on fog lights being for "fog only" and come hell or high water any other conditions that seriously impare your visibility you cant use them because its not fog.

Im right, i know im right, it was in aid of safety, which is always right

theyre for poor visibility not just fog you were correct take no notice

  4. apparantly the 2.8l 24v is a little stronger than the 3.2l for silly hp

as for rods iv got the 3.2l running 390 ish lb ft and thats supposed to be fine i also ran the 12v 2.8l at 275 lb ft on a completely stock 100k miles engine and nothing broke lol (i think the rings have gone now its somewhere around 120k i think)

imho the 2.8l obd2 lump is the best 12v motor the 2.9l has slightly thin walls and is slightly more prone to wear
