Changing from 205/50 tyres to 195/50 changes the rolling radius, it gives the same effect as changing the final drive in the gearbox so does help acceleration. Obviously its better to do this with the actual final drive though.

I wouldnt try that with normal coolant, the stuff in your link is designed to be run at 100%, most coolants arent.

antera309, what disks did you get?

I asked Stealth about that a while ago and was told there no longer available. There is a quaife gear kit out there but from what ive heard its nowhere near as strong as the gemini kit was. Think the quaife kit is about 1600 fjust for the gearkit, labour on top of that.

If your rev limiter is set to 6400 then your current top speed is 150 if u can hit the limiter. With a 3.68 it will be 138, a 3.94 would give 129mph. A good change to make is add a 3.94 diff but also a 0.76 5th gear, this will give the acceleration improvements your looking for but also decent cruising revs ant top speed (142). Id only go for the 3.94 if you have an early vr or a remap for the 7000rpm rev limit though, I plan on getting the 3.94 diff and 0.76 5th if I keep my car much longer.

Toe in on the front wheels greatly improves turn in and gives more grip in the corner, it does make the steering at higher speeds very twitchy though and will increase tyre wear. Apparently in a fwd car it will also give more grip on standing starts as the wheels will be pulling forward and flexing the bushes so they will both be pointing closer to straight ahead wheras with neutral toe on a standing start the wheels will have a tendency to toe in.
-
Yeah, corrados are set to 1.2 as standard so it certainly wont do any harm. Mine is set to 1.7 with a degree of toe out added as well.
-
Ignore the speed sensor one, it just appears as the engine wouldnt have been running when you done the scan.
-
Will this kit (intercooled set up) be available for the corrado as well?
-
If its brand new as you say id buy it at that price anyway. You would make money by selling the ancilliaries and engine over ebay/the various forums if its no good to you.
-
You will also need a set of front brake hoses from the later (late '96 on) gti/16v/vr6 golf as they connect to the caliper with a banjo bolt.

The schrick is actually an advantage on track, especially when combined with an atb diff. Ive found in the past without the schrick that certain 2nd gear corners the revs would drop a bit low and the car would bog down, and theres no way I would have went for 1st. Also, some longer 2nd gear corners ive sometimes found the engine bouncing off the rev limiter before the exit wheras with the schrick its fine leaving it in 3rd giving a higher exit speed.

Not booked in or anything but have been thinking about it. There night they done earlier in the year was a good one. Any idea if theres places left?

Keep an eye on your oil level over the course of the day. make sure its always near or slightly above max. I managed to spin 2 big ends with it at a quarter. Is it the Star P trackday your going to?
