  2. Has anyone done this brake upgrade? I have 312's on the front, with a Tarox 6 pot kit sitting in the garage waiting to go on, but need to replace the rears on mine and fancy upgrading to the stronger wheel bearings in this set up. Only problem I have noticed is the carrier mountings and stub axles are different on the MK4's as the caliper bolts direct to the rear beam and not hte stub axle as on the MK3's. Any advice gladly welcomed !
  3. Anyone know what effect increasing the size of the master cylinder on a '97 VR6 with ABS will have?? I am worried it will have an adverse effect on the ABS system as a larger cylinder will pump more fluid for the same pedal travel. You lads that have fitted the Brembo 4 pots, what difference did you feel in the brake pedal bearing in mind you know have 4 pistons to move instead of 1 ?? I will have 6 pistons to move and think I will get a very long pedal compared to my 288mm calipers. Anyone else running Tarox 6 pots?? Any ideas people???
  4. I agree Leda are very good, I spent 30 mins with them and they gave me astarting figure of 220lbs front and 130lbs rear, which seemed a little low. So I just wondered what others were running.
  5. Anyone know where I can get a baffled sump and windage plate for a '97 VR6. I need to take it off to get the o/s/f wishbone bolt out so I can replace the wishbone bushes, plus my sump took a bump a while back so it seems a good opportunity to replace it. I know Schrick do alloy ones for the 8v/16v engines but I can't find one for a VR6 anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated
  6. Just got my hands on some virtually new Leda coilovers for a song and need to sort spme springs. You guys with coilovers fitted, can you tell me what spring rates you are running to give me a starting point for my set up. I have a Vento so I know the rates for the Golf will give a good starting point but I will have to up the rears a bit.
