Not gonna bother - the light hasnt been on for some months now. i tested the abs (in the snow!) seems to work ok - ive changed the discs and pads - ebc turbogrove yum yum! + ebc greenstuff brakes. stops ok and abs still functioning.

ok just replaced front discs and pads and noticed offside shock leaking. what are the options - dont want to lower it been there done that its too bumpy! soo whats a good shock to go for ? cheers

cool ill prob take it to amd - four wheel alignment - c wot they say. ALSO! ive just replaced the front discs and pads (EBC Turbo grove dimpled and groved + green stuff pads) we knoticed when we took off the old pads that the nearside were completetly worn down and the off side only about half, now im asuming either the previouse owner replaced one side - unlikely - or the nearside has been binding slighly? any ideas? - could this explain the pulling?

no! we must all use pirate cds! I got sony too it works on most copies, some skip ocassionaly. Aparently its the CDRs rather than the playesr that is the problem. factory produced originals are of higher grade than CDRs - cos theyre burned to a higher spec with industrial power burners producing more reflective CDs. apparently the CDRs you burn at home arnt as reflective as these and there for dont always work with some head units that dont have enough oomph in their laser. same scenario as with PS1s - where sometimes the pot on the laser had to be turned up to play certain copied games. i gu

yea i was afraid of that tyres wear evenly. - its always done it - i guess assuming traking camber wishbones etc are ok - it must be slightly bent chasis prob due to previous crash damage. im guessing it can be re jigged ? pretty pissed off -ive had the car a long time but reported the prob to wayside VW shortly after i bought it - they checked it and said it drives fine (bollox) they changed allfour tyre free of charge - didnt make that much difference. so i took it to vindis - who also said its ok. so i just put up with it. guess ill have to take it to AMD for a wheel alignment - with very

Guys, My VR6 pulls to the left quite noticably - took it in to Wayside and Vidis - who say its just the road camber - ie if i was to drive on the wrong side of the road it would pull to the right. ive tried this out but i still reckon it pulls more to the left on left camber than than it does right on right camber. ie if i drive on a completely flat road it pulls to the left. ive had new tyres - no difference. any ideas about cause or rectification? Guys, I got a completly standard 98 highline. im thinking of exhaust and filter mods, anyone know roughly what %age itl bump up my insurance?

any one tried a magnex on thier VR? i had one one my RSTurbo 3" for about 3 years no probs couldnt fault it, sounded great without being too loud.

96 most of the time, sometimes 98 rarely 100, never above. dunno what oil i have - i got it serviced at VAG - i guess i got my moneys worth...

1998 VR6 Highline. heated seats nos functioning. only one element seems to work on passanger seat - none on drivers seat. any one know how to go about repairing this. Thanks Roop.

Hi, 1998 VR6 Highline. ABS light came on went to wayside who cleared the error - but said i need an abs pump -about 500 quid!!! got a 2nd opinion at a VW specialist who confirmed this. they say that even though the abs light is out - the pump needs replacing. apparently the code is still present. abs seems to function ok - but am in doubt as whether to replace or not. Do i need a new pump, anyone know where i can get one cheaper - eurocarparts.co.uk only seem to have LHD versions. also: front discs/pads need replacing - any recomendations to uprated versions - cross drilled / vented etc. Thank
