spindat45 0
I'm insured with Elephant. I'm 29 and payed £588 fully comp with 6 yrs Guaranteed NCB on my '96 4dr Highline in Feb this year. I've lowereed it, changed my rims and I'm about to put a SS exhaust on it. They just quoted me an extra £65 for these mods. Is that about right? I was also wondering roughly how much you get stung for if you get 3 points as i got flashed the other day :-( CheersKevin
VR6Rich 3
Speeding is £60 fine with 3 points if its a standard speeding ticket (i.e. not going really stupid speeds). Not sure about paying for mods but ive never paid for them, just a £25 'admin' fee to change the policy. Just make sure I add loads of mods at the same time ;-)
spindat45 0
Who's that with, Adrian FLux? I didn't make myself clear mate. I meant roughly how much would insurers sting you for 3 points
blackmagic 0
Hi m8 im with the Flux and when i got 3 points they didn't up my premium at all , its becoming the norm for people to get 3 points. Just dont get 6 cos then some insurers get itchy feet.
VR6Rich 3
3 points shouldnt make any difference.
spindat45 0
It does with flaming Elepahnt. Good old Trunky wants an extra, wait for it, an extra £180 odd quid plus another £70 for non standard rims, exhaust, and suspension. Thankfully I haven't told them I ve done the mods cos they don't even do like for like if they got nickedLike an honest idiot i rung them before getting a quote with Brentacre and Adrian Flux. The quote from Brentacre was £2 more than my current premium with that bloody grey elephant even with the 3 points and a few mods. When i rung elephant to cancel said policy, the woman on the other end said i would be back charged from the start of my policy in Feb because I'd told them i had the points.Lesson here guys is that honesty is not always the cheapest policy. Avoid that big fat grey elephant like the plague.
c4mbl 1
Im only 22, got 3 points, 4 yrs no claims, and only pay £650 for the year with directline for my 97 vr6 highline. Thought that was a really good deal.
